Delete Your Account & Data

Last updated: August 3, 2026

This page explains how to delete something specific you've posted (like a campaign or hazard report) without touching your account, and separately, how to delete your FindTogether account and the personal data tied to it, whether or not you still have the app installed. It's referenced from our Privacy Policy, which covers what we collect in the first place.

Delete something you posted

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove one specific thing you posted. If you own the item and want it gone entirely โ€” not just edited or resolved โ€” you can delete just that item, in the app or on the web. This applies to campaigns and hazard reports today:

  • In the app: Account โ†’ My campaigns or My hazard reports, then tap the ๐Ÿ—‘ delete icon next to the one you want to remove.
  • On the web: go to My Campaigns or My Hazard Reports (sign in first) and use the ๐Ÿ—‘ Delete button on the item.

This is permanent and immediate โ€” it removes the campaign or hazard page itself along with everything on it (search-log entries and map pins for a campaign; updates and locations for a hazard report), but leaves your account and everything else you've posted untouched.

Delete your account

Option 1: Delete it yourself, in the app

If you have a FindTogether account (signed in with Google, Apple, or an emailed sign-in link):

  1. Open the FindTogether app and make sure you're signed in.
  2. Go to Account (bottom navigation).
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete account, in red near the bottom.
  4. Confirm. This takes effect immediately โ€” there's no waiting period and no email to click.

The same option is on the way to the web app's account menu as well; for now, the in-app path or the email request below both work.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

Don't have the app, or can't sign in? Email support@findtogether.now and ask us to delete your account. You must send the request from the same email address your FindTogether account uses โ€” that's how we confirm it's really you asking, since we don't have any other way to verify identity for an account we can't sign you into. Requests from a different address, or made on someone else's behalf, will be turned down. We'll confirm back once it's done โ€” normally within a few business days.

What gets deleted when you delete your account

  • Your sign-in itself (Google/Apple/email link account) โ€” permanently removed.
  • Your name and email address are removed from anything you've posted or submitted: campaigns you own, hazard reports you filed, search-log entries, hazard updates, and content reports you've filed.
  • Your group memberships, join requests, and push-notification subscriptions.

What's retained

Campaigns and hazard reports you created stay visible to the community after your account is deleted โ€” just with your name/email stripped out, so the search or hazard alert doesn't disappear out from under people relying on it. If you'd rather a campaign or hazard report was removed entirely instead of just de-identified, delete it yourself first using "Delete something you posted" above before deleting your account, or mention it in your email request.

Anonymous use

You don't need an account to browse FindTogether, search logged areas, or view hazard reports โ€” most of the app works without signing in. If you've only ever used FindTogether anonymously (no Google/Apple/email sign-in), there's no account to delete; clearing your browser's site data, or reinstalling the app, disconnects you from the private anonymous identifier described in our Privacy Policy.
